hjlittman | Scratch Built Curtiss P6E | Build | 09-Apr-10 14:13 | | Views : 1086 | It's starting to take shape. This, revised upper wing has laser cut parts, all the rest hand cut. |
hjlittman | Scratch Built Curtiss P6E | Build | 09-Apr-10 14:11 | | Views : 1032 | Finally got to the fueslage. I misplaced my small try-square that day, found it later. |
hjlittman | Scratch Built Curtiss P6E | Build | 09-Apr-10 14:09 | | Views : 1057 | Printing parts on paper and sticking them to the balsa is a lot better than back in the days of carbon paper, but this is another thing that goes a lot quicker in laser cut. |
hjlittman | Scratch Built Curtiss P6E | Build | 09-Apr-10 14:06 | | Views : 1139 | Have the plans redrawn and am now working on the lower wing. Things like this strut pocket will work much better in laser cut. |

hjlittman | Scratch Built Curtiss P6E | Build | 09-Apr-10 14:03 | | Views : 1028 | My first try at the wing. This is my first project using a drafting program. I'm never going back to T-square and triangle! The reference I was using wasn't accurate and the wing outline is wrong. Also, I didn't like the placement of the spars, rib spacing and the airfoil I was using so, "back to the drawing board!" |
hjlittman | Guillows Series 500 - Hawker Hurricane | Build | 20-Mar-10 09:12 | | Views : 896 | My inspector, Schrodinger, is approving the plans and scrutinizing the quality of the die cutting. |
hjlittman | Guillows Series 500 - Hawker Hurricane | Build | 20-Mar-10 09:09 | | Views : 986 | Finally got my Hurricane on the board. The printout is the proof for the "tissucals" for this model. |

hjlittman | Guillows Series 600 - Piper Cub 95 | Parked | 14-Jul-09 12:19 | | Views : 1103 | With 14 inch loop of 1/8 inch flat FIA tan rubber it weighs 28.5 grams. Balances without any ballast. (Like, I could take credit for that.) |
hjlittman | Guillows Series 600 - Piper Cub 95 | Build | 07-Jul-09 11:56 | | Views : 1072 | Almost done. Still have to finish the struts and the shock cord covers. I can't seem to build anything light any more. With the finiching bits it will come out at a rather porky 25 grams without rubber. Add 4 grams for the motor and I have built another 30 gram model. Better stick to larger models or try some foamies. |
