Cessna 170 by "Stuka" Dave Gee on it's nose behind mine was winner with 77 second flight with Gasparin CO2 engine. 300 series Storch was also by Dave. I had prop troubles and finished last.

Tissue on. Stab and rudder pinned down while shrinking to eliminate warps, Wing tissue shrunk with a 1/16 inch wedge under trailing edge of tip rib to build in washout.

Detail of nose modifications, Front of plastic cowl was cut off by rotating it, on it's back on the board, against an Exacto blade attached to a wooden block of the right height. Cowl front filled with balsa.

Wing reinforcements are lengths of bamboo barbeque skewers. Wings are lightened, rib holes done with paper punch, trailing edges cut down on inside edges.

Yes, it does fly. It's not spectacular but has done 19 seconds. Reaction of one person at the field when told it was a Guillow's 500 series Stuka, "Now I've seen it. Pigs can fly!"
