| SteveM | 02-May-08 11:19 | | I don't mind crashing, but I hate it when it happens 2 minutes into your first flight and you have nothing else to fly. The white blob is the LiFe battery pack. Airframe weighs 12.3 oz, AUW was 13.7 oz on LiPo 640 mAh but is now 17 oz with 1100 mAh LiFe. |

| SteveM | 02-May-08 17:47 | | Unfortunately the doctor is out of town for the weekend and repairs will have to wait till Monday at the earliest. For proper balance the battery needs to be just in front of the servos, which currently requires removing the wing to change batteries. I guess while I am repairing I might as well cut out a battery hatch. |

Also, that sure is a small plane, I'm learning on a 63" wingspan trainer. The RealFlight RC simulator has taught me a ton as well. |
| SteveM | 02-May-08 19:30 | | On my own for now with occasional suggestions from a member who has been at the field twice when I was there (he is one of the instructors). The club has training nights in May, starting a week from Tuesday. I plan to take advantage of this opportunity but at the very least have to get the proper AMA membership and would like to have my own plane though the club does have 3 trainers (I don't think any are electric). |
