I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

My brain puff from yesterday, that being gluing the upper plane together, is what it is. My error just makes finishing the upper foil a tad more difficult, its size being the problem.

In an attempt at making chicken salad from chicken sheet, we will address the Lewis gun mounting.

Great details continue!!

Thank you. There are additional wires still needed here then this surface needs to be stressed. Remember I am wandering thru this construction. It is like a prototype. The order of things is important and several times I have done things out of a logical order. Today I epoxied the upper airfoil together then realized I wanted the components separate until I added the upper wing pylons and their wires. If there were instructions perhaps this bump in the road could be avoided. Makes you appreciate all the prep work that goes into a kit plan and instructions.

Matt...put the model outside in the NJ air for a day and it weathers by itself. However if you leave it outside too long, it dissolves away! I have been playing with a number of things over the last few builds. I will always build biplanes as they afford the greatest opportunity for detailing. I want to mimic the planes in the old B+W photos from WW1, well used but not abused. On Ogre I buffed the surface with a abrasive pad. It dulled the finish, highlighted the wing ribs. Talcum powder in the paint dulls the paint making it more cloth like. This is a real hoot for me experimenting to see what happens. I have been hand painting insignias. This time I printed them on regular paper , sanded the underside to thin them , and soaked them on both sides in polycrylic and slapped them on. At first the paper bubbled but when it dried the roundels shrunk down flat and smooth. Then I abraded them for the used look. The planes in my reference book all had stressed roundels, none looked perfect.

What's your weathering techniques? I've always wanted to try but didn't have the guts to ruin a nice paint job...

Awesome work....extremely realistic!

The starboard and port lower main planes have hinged ailerons and are epoxied to the fuselage. The starboard and port upper main planes have hinged ailerons.

Bracing wires installed on the cabane struts. Note: The bracing wires make a world of difference to strength and stabilization of the structure.

As we have learned with Jenny, the rigging will get done, eventually. Be the tortoise in that race. When you are at that stage you do not want your "Arthur-itis " fingers screwing things up. Work side to side to keep forces balanced. We do not need to warp anything out of the accepted at this stage

It looks like the G man wants to beat his head with that hammer over all that rigging!

No sir over kill and at $3.50 a pop expensive. I have a 45 year old Sako 243 Winchester that works wonders!

Ah, trout season and fly fishing. I know what you are saying. Then my vegetable gardening, cutting meadows on a tractor and blowing the heads off of woodchuck! Yes, the nice weather affords many a divergence?

first passion fishing, second modeling!

rayl, I hear you. if this keeps up the snow will disappear, shutter the thought, and the flowers will start to invade. Then, I too will not want to be in the shop. My fruit orchard calls to me! If this occurs, Ogre goes on hold until??????
