Very nice! I've avoided that for a while, but have a Vultee Vibrator in line, so I have a good picture tp follow.

me too. This one is rather involved however and will take some time. The wing construction with working flaps and landing gear should be even more fun than this fuselage and engine / cowling / cockpit adventure has been..

Nicely detailed. Looking forward to seeing final product.

She really was built like a tank. Lots of armor plating and duralumin - the copper and aluminum alloy - was used all over the airplane to protect the pilot, super charger and other critical areas. The fuselage work is far enough along that I can begin to work up the R2800 and get the cowling fitted after that.

Thanks for mentioning Greg's airplanes. This site has been mentioned before and it is one of my favorites. He does go into hyperdetail, which I love. His information appears to be well researched and he often goes to the source instead of relying on other people's observations. The P-47 series is wonderful! He even has a video on the Throttle and Boost quadrant! Where would you find something like that! But he also has some great videos on things like Super Turbo chargers, Inverted V engines and aircraft performance comparisons. I've not reviewed his car videos, but I suspect they are just as informative.

On Youtube I found what I consider an interesting channel called Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles. He has an 8 part P-47 series. They are in some parts so technical I have one idea what he is talking about but everything else is very interesting. This is one of the videos which has some info about Greg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFDOGwptxOg&t=759s

I’ll be scratch-building the R2800 engine for this project as well. Lots to do on this project. I might have Callie do the decals for it. Not a fan of Guillow’s decals..

I was going to take on some of the challenges. I want to make the main and tail wheels retractable, the flaps and canopy moveable, the rest of the control surfaces will be fixed. All is subject to change as usual.

Great start! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this model.

Looking good! Are you going to build it with all the special Guillow's options?
