One edge at a time? I like that method. I've found that you do need several stringers as you have done. Otherwise it sometimes gets lines from the stringers. Some time you could try birch plywood. It is a better surface, but is more difficult to sand for leading and trailing edges.

They always look better from 2 or 3 feet and I always feel that I quit sanding too soon. Is that a primer or a color coat?
