I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Does the job completely.

1 down three to go. Thanks poppy for your dummy cylinder idea, I think it works great and yep, saves a lot of time.

Looks the part I think.

A suggestion. Paint the balsa back plate to look like cylinders, saves a lot of time and on a model of this size no one will see the difference.

Thanks poppy you are one of the inspirations for this. As I said I still have the back seven to make and then all the little niceties to make it look somewhat real. Tis a bugger that this is a four engined beast, only 49 cylinders to make. If this site dosen't stop giving me ideas I may never finish this bird!!!

WOW! Another way to do engines. Super!

Got bored with the stabiliser so I thought I would try something I have never done before. Still have the back row to complete.

Call it a labour of love. At least that's what I keep telling myself!!

Aren't you sick of gluing in little pieces of balsa yet !!! Only a thousand to go.

Filling stabiliser.

Yep it is a Towner plan which I got from Pete Williams of Cardiff. I had the original blown up to this size. Scale is 1/23 and a wing span of 116cm. As for the winding of four props at the same time Creosotewind, your guess is as good as mine. I should imagine that it would be quite fiddly to fly under rubber.
Creosotewind, Comment for image # 1599821 Jan 10 09:53
This will be a cool build. What scale/wingspan? I see how the rubber is set at an angle. How do you wind four propellers and release them at the same time?

Is this plan by Harold J. Towner from the U.K.? I think I have the same one ... The rubber powering is quite unique ...

Jeez, that'll keep you busy !!

Question to Poppy if I may. How did you make the ammo belt for the twin 30's on your Guillows Series 1000 - SBD3 Dauntless?

THE FORGOTTEN BOMBER. Just having a look at my name sake and my next project. I put the lib in to show the scale. Have been wanting to build one of these for a while as we have family history with this bird during WW2. Still deciding weather or not to RC this one. Can't wait!!!

Thanks guys. I think I'll have to start wearing my glasses when building things this small. It looked really smooth to the naked eye before I airbrushed. Question to you poppy if I may, I was looking at your Guillows Series 1000 - SBD3 Dauntless and was wondering how you made the ammo belt on the twin 30's?
