I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

What a good idea, I'd never have thought of using a tap washer!

Lucky today 10 minutes....plasticbuddha...go figure!

We think most problems are now solved. I will turn a solid plastic sprinner next week. Prop blades , laminated popsicle sticks. An atenna and some further details and I should be ready for paint!

The removable LG became permanent today. After amking wheel flaps, logic told me that the chances of me removing the Mig from the ceiling frequently would be slim or none. Tail wheel works!

Sometimes it is easy. Tail wheel, a faucet washer and a flat glass beard from a broken necklace. Total time 10 minutes!!!

Looking pro to me. Good work.

I will keep that in mind, though I think once the Mig is complete and hanging it will not be subjected to any abuse....unless my son's kids will play with it someday!

My first canopy....not to shabby, I think!
John M Oshust, Image # 434305 Sep 07 21:44

Close but not exactly like the "real thing". I hope to finish this plane by the end of the month. Next one... a kit...no scratch building. Sooo many planes, so little time!

Bitter sweet design victory. The canopy pops out, but als, does not slide open. Supprt rods in the wind screen are aSS caridiac wires from a close friend's chest!

John, something to bear in mind with the spot putty, it is relatively "soft". I've had good results with giving it a thin coat of CA before final sanding to harden it. Otherwise, it chips very easily. I believe that Croesotewind if correct; a lot of static plastic aricraft modellers use the "Future" technique in conjuction with CA.

My first canopy, my first working with clear platic. Duh!!! Today working with the center section, I first masked the plastic with tape. Keeeps my old fingers and glue away!

No, but a great idea, blister containers of Uncle Carlo!
JohnG., Comment for image # 433605 Sep 07 11:48
Suspect they may be ice chests for Vodka!!!

What I have read is that if you coat the clear plastic with Future floor polish, the super glue will not fog the plastic. I haven't yet tried that, but it is something to explore. The MIG is looking great.

John M Oshust, Comment for image # 434004 Sep 07 19:51
a sliding canopy...we hope
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 433404 Sep 07 19:36
Plastic forming not a skill I wish to master...at least now. I wanted the AL strips and a canopy that opens...I hope. plasticbuddha the bondo spot putty is the best. I will go over the plane again ands make every seam disappear the re-prime.
