This looks amazing though, David. It'll be worth it in the end! |

Yep, you are right David. I jumped the gun on the B-29. That would be one huge model at 1/28. The old, old Revell models of the SPAD, Sopwith Camel and Fokker Triplane are 1/28. Seems like an odd scale, but kits were more flexible in the old days. |

Yes, same technique, The kit supplied block was much too hard so I used a softer wood which came from a kit from the 40's. I have several chunks of it. |

Nice treatment of the front canopy area. Did you use the same technique for the rear upper and lower glazed areas. Also did you carve the nose from the kit supplied block? |

Carefully trim away excess from each piece before adding the next one. |

Sleep's for kids! The box says the B-29 is 1/32 scale, same as the DC-3. |

A scan of the Comet plans are here. Take a look in the "3-view" and "Photos" folders too. |

There are some great photos on Wikipedia showing the cockpit of an A-26. |

The original wingspan was 70'-0". With a 30" span for the model, the scale is 1/28, which is the same scale as the Guillows B-29, B-17, B-24 and PBY. David, do you ever sleep? |
