The trees (and wires) are actually quite far off from the plane. The distance from the camera to the plane makes it look like I'm about to lose it in the limbs. These trees are pretty much all maple, oak, birch, and douglas fir. The white stuff on the branches is the one of the many types of moss that grows all over everything.

Boy, don't get it caught in those trees, they look like they would eat an airplane! What kind of trees are those? They look likd mesquite, but a little large for that.

Here you can see that the AMA Racer was getting fairly high off the ground and would make about 3 large circles before winding down.

After the Canary Don Ross says to build and fly this AMA Racer (modified of course). It gave reliable flights but it was so light that even the slightest breeze would throw it off course.

I repaired the Canary and flew it again, but the wing attachement it just not solid enough to get reliable flights.

The sun was shining and the daffodils were blooming so I headed to the park again. The One Nite 28 was not quite ready for flight though.

Uncovered weight is just under 56 grams due to many techniques Don Ross uses to add strength (such as the webbing in the wing). A little sanding and then time to cover.

Fuselage and tailfeathers are built, starting construction of the wing.

I was just over at Easy Built Models and noticed that they have added Esaki tissue and many of the K&S Al products and a few of their tools.

I decided to go ahead and add this one to my hanger after all. Don Ross shows how to build it for rubber powered FF (with some modifications), then converts it to electric FF, then to one channel RC flight.
