Barney this engine had a few cooling system variants. In this one coolant was pumped from the resevoir tank, thru the engine, and thru two radiators that were mounted on the sides of the fuse. A MG round thru this tank gave the piolet a hot water face wash.

Wounderbar!!! or something that sounds like that. Truly a spectacular peice of work. I'm learning alot from watching this build. Is that the coolant tank on top?

Well fellow "wingnuts", the Merces part of the build is history. Nothing I can add and still have it fit or be visible.

My redition of the Mercedes "D" engine.
John M Oshust, Image # 989719 Nov 08 18:11

From what I have learned water travels to the two fuse mounted radiators for cooloing. Commonly called "ears".

Well, J.O., you have made a very successful transition from radials to inlines. This looks as good as any I've seen. JFB detailing!!

Wooden pegs are for the exhaust stacks. This cannot be fabricated until after the uppe wing is ready for installation. The stacks fit between the cabane struts.

Rocker arms.
John M Oshust, Image # 989319 Nov 08 15:32

Rocker arms and ignition wires. Now I need magnetos.

The 3 hole intake sticks a bit but after she runs a while Me thinks she will loosen up!
