I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

78 inch wingspan if I remember right

Man O Man are you busy, I noticed when packing up the Catalina for shipping that there is a small rip in the corner of the windshield. I'm sure that you can seamlessly repair it or use it as a pattern to remold a new one. I also found another huge plane in my storage shed, it is a twin engine passenger plane possible a DC-3/C-41. Are you interested?

I am glad I saved the prototype engine from the Tin Goose. It is a tad small but me thinks it will work. All I had to do was "Magic Box" a crankcase

I am liking the speed at which a small plane can be put together. "Z" wings are smaller than the Corsair Hor. Stab!

Some extra wood on the fuse and wings with dihedral set.

Working with laser cut components is a real joy! The "Z" wing takes form.

Small drawing on the left is of the Dumas parts. Computer plan on the right is the "O" GB, scaled to double. Instead of a 24 in span the "Z" will now be 48!

You ARE in a hurry, I did not want to halt the "Z"... but if you E-mail your address... my mailing info will be on the box... tomorrow. I know you are good for the check

Scratch build and detail...unless I start a PBY!!!
John M Oshust, Image # 926102 Sep 08 20:06

Here is where I am with the "Z". I will build this mostly stock. I have a radial , the prototype from the "Tin Goose." Notice that I am copying all of the parts as I assemble them. I will use these sheets to increase the span from 24 to 48 inches. Sc

Patience my friend, wax on wax off, side side, up down, just like a Bonzi I know this will grow into a perfect miniature of the full size version.

Just imagine you are building a ship inside of a bottle.

The techniques involved here, though similar, are radically different. How do you guys do it??? I shall persevere and give this my best shot! From a chainsaw and 2x4's to forceps and 1/16 balsa, tough on the old hands and eyes.

Also my new wife Novice Builder, Yeah I could not wait, we are hitched, says she has a problem, with her Beaver... Dehavilland Beaver that is. so I said we can take care of it later!! I must get my camera out of the truck to post photo of a work in 'pause mode' But only for a year or so.

I found these kits had directions that missed small details that you PROs might not even notice. I built the Waco Glider and they did not make it clear that the wing mounts should have been "packed out" with solid wood to give a place to glue on the wings. try to glue wings to tissue some time and u will see what i mean. also they missed the part where a rookie builder should be told to put the windows in, I ended up installing sheet plastic windows after the 'fuse' was tissued so i tore a hole in each side to mount 'glass', many other glitches in directions, but the build was soo long ago that I forgot them all. I still remember calling the kit a "Dumb Ass"

These Dumas kits are great. Really nice kits to build, I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

Tony...Laser cut a plus, especially because she is small. Balsa is like the grade I purchase. Directions brief. Plans are excellent. Plastic good. I only intend to use the wheel pants. I will scratch a cowl that reveals an engine. Decals superb. Colored tissue, I will sheet the fuse and wings, but the tissue is high quality.

Whats your first impressions of the kit John?
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 922030 Aug 08 19:08
JG...259 hrs in the Corsair to date. I figure another 15 hrs to final finish. Cheap though, only $128 in supplies, but the minilumber yard is MT! Looks like the "Z" will take a 1/12 scale Williams radial. This engine, better wheels and the kit has the price tag already almost at $100.

Night Club sleeps over the "Z". The Hor. Stab. on the Corsair is 4 inches bigger than the span on the "Z"
