I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Good question.

what is a good putty that dries smooth and doesn't need to be sanded, if possible, because it is near tissue? brian.

thanks guys! that would be a last resort. lol.

Look "just the Business" Brian - job well done.

this is how it starts...next thing you know the whole aeroplane is balsa - lol
Don C, Comment for image # 4025929 May 18 09:51

it wasn't to hard don, luckily I had some 1/8" balsa sheets lying around.
Don C, Comment for image # 4025028 May 18 15:10
Good idea and glad it worked. Hope you got some rest.
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 4025028 May 18 13:07
I have to thank you, bob, the solid balsa stabilizer worked, no warpage.
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 4025027 May 18 12:41
I guess i'll be pulling an all nighter. lol.
rgood, Comment for image # 4025027 May 18 12:25
It would not be that difficult to remove those tailplanes (in UK speak) and replace them with a pair of "solid balsa" types Brian - what do you think?
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 4025227 May 18 11:33
i can only think that the balsa is too thin and when the dope dries, it warps. what do you think?
Don C, Comment for image # 4025227 May 18 10:29
I went back through your build pictures and yes, everything looked good - until doping. I can see wrinkles in the first 2 panels on the left. Is the right side the same? It's the bend in the trailing edge right off the fuselage that look to be the same on both sides that made me think tissue grain.
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 4025227 May 18 09:36
thank you don, Heywood, and david. i'll look at scigs posts to see if it helps. don, when I dry covered and then sprayed the plane and elevator, with water, to tightened the tissue, it seemed alright. I thought I checked the tissue grain the right way, the shortest grain tested right, but I was skeptical cause you think the long way of the tissue would be right. thanks don.
