Try "plunge molding". You use clear hard plastic from packaging of something you buy. Your mold needs to be mounted on a little taller stand. Then you make a holder/frame for the plastic from a piece of plywood. Cut a hole in it the shape of mold but 1/4" to 1/2" wider all the way around. Cut a piece of plastic bigger than the hole and staple it over the hole on the bottom side of the plywood. Heat it in the oven to about 200-250 degrees F. It takes 3-5 minutes. Using oven mitts get it out and with the plastic down, push it down over the mold. It took me a few tries (several actually) but eventually you come up with a shaped canopy you can cut out. There are a couple of pictures in my Beaver and Corsair builds. Luke Bozek can also chime in on this. He helped me. It may take practice. Hope this helps. |

Thanks David! The sun is setting behind Snow Mountain on the coastal range and is 91 miles from our deck. |

That is it Don - use this a lot. Had that pin chuck since 1958!!!!! The drill bit is a recent one (of many!) |

Showing my total lack of experience, does this just get chucked into a regular hand drill or drill press to make it smaller? |

1mm drill bit in pin chuck - for Don. |
