Standard hockey puck. I cut it on a radial arm saw to keep it square. |

Not unless a bill comes in the envelope with the wheel. After a fairly long conversation including referring me to the LHSand me asking if I could send a check, I was put on hold for a while and when he came back he said they would put one in an envelope and send it to me. |

Did they charge you for the wheel? |

Still looks good though. Its the purist within us that puts up with this kind of stuff in order to achieve our dream "Masterpiece." |

DD, didn't work quite that way. Couldn't order, but they are putting one in an envelope and sending it to me. Thanks. Still harder than it needed to be, though. |

You can pay by check for orders under $10 and the shipping is what it actually costs. Contact customer service by phone. |

Sorry it took me a month to notice your question. They are styrene strips (.08 X 2mm) from a company called Plastruct in California. A suggestion from my LHS owner. |

Yes this is Ron. How do I know you ? Or how do you know me ?
The Luscombe is a Dare Design kit. I customized it allot. Made my own wheel pants, corrugated skins, etc.. I will post the build on this web sight after I figure how ? Seems nothing is working for me. |

Unbelievable self control prevailed. |

This is a little crazy! Ron, right? I have just got back from an adventure in a Luscombe L8A, and your name came up when I was googling pictures of N1139B (the aircraft I flew in). On that 'Popular Aviation - Luscombe' site, I saw your model Luscombe, and wanted to find out kit it was... Tried googling you to find a contact, but gave up after I couldn't find an email address. How funny that you turn up here! So - what kit was the Luscombe from?! |

Great story. Great connection. |

What did you use for the flying wires? They are aerodynamic, just like the real thing. |

Very nice. I like the tube structure. |

Hi Don ! Remember me ? I am that "Grandson" who started the build in 1979 at 17. Small world eh ? It turned out incredible ! So nice to see it went to the right person who finished it ! What a pleasant surprise.
Would love to get in touch so I can send you a cool photo of me holding on to it way back when. What a beautiful museum piece you made of it. Makes me smile:) |
