Ahoy Briand yep id there is carrion to be found the buzzards will make the best of it there tons of them here in Ohio I found Roscoe when he was a hatchling he fell out of the pine tree when I use to live in Tennessee. I raised him and pretty much knows me very well and he depends on me I loves those meat scraps I get from the grocery store. Boats.

Ahoy Paul LOLlllllllllll Naaaaaa he,s never torn up any of my collections I have hundreds of them in the spring house. sometimes when I take out my Great planes J3 Cub with its 7 foot span he willk look at it with his head cocked left and right trying to figure out if its a fellow bird. But he has never tried attacking any of my models. Hawks and crows and RC planes dont get along. If flying near a Hawk they think its some kind of threat mostly terrotory they will down your plane thanks Paul. Boats

Did Roscoe ever go after any of your model airplanes Boats? A guy from the Dakotas, over on the Guillows forum, said he had his rubber free flight model shredded by a hawk or something when he flew it. lol...Thanksgiving would come early if that happened to one of my planes.

Ahoy thanks for all of your replies I posted roscoe because it something different, Bill Roscoe eats anything they do perfere carrion although nicknmaed carrion crows. Ropscoe eats Chicked and beef scraps After getting free samples from Kroger grocery store I let the meat fermint for a week and I give it to him to eat sometimes I give him dead fish at the metro pond where i take out my sailboat models for a sail. They are very intelligent birds He dont make any noise nothing at all just a bunch of grunts and groans. I keep him in our springhouse in the back of my house Terry took these pictures I had them redone to a high fedility at computor max took the negatives and had them copied. Paul LOlllllllll if he was a few hundred pounds bigger he most certainly would eat the hand that fed him. Boats

I had a female Peking duck that was an imprinting project from a behavior of animals class that my wife was teaching. After the semester was over my wife brought it home and I trained it to respond to several verbal commands, much to the surprise of many of my wife's colleagues. She was a great pet, laid two-hundred-eighty eggs and lived to be fourteen years old. However, if provoked, she had the personality of a dinosaur and had absolutely no trouble routing any of the neighborhood cats that entered the yard. When she was about ten she started showing some signs of age and I took her to an avian vet. He was startled to see a ten year old Peking duck saying that they usually end up hanging by their feet in a Chinese butcher shop at about two years.

Pauli72, Comment for image # 2702917 Aug 12 15:00
I think of the movie Jurassic Park, every time I see one of those type of birds. If that thing was a few hundred pounds bigger, it would try to eat you boats. lol. I didn't know they had digital cameras 25 years ago.

LOLLlllllllllll yep He is a dandy this fellow always keeps me laughing he does the most comical gestures you ever saw, he even does the nazi goose step with his wings all spread out.secret in having a bird like this is to have him when he is first born. I found him in Tennesee on the ground freshly hatched at first I though he was a owl of some sort fed him ground up mice and meat scraps. Now he eats nothing but meat scraps from the grocery store. At his age of 25 years he is still a spring chicken from what I was told they live up to 80 years. Boats
