After the E series, they removed the brace, but prior, the planes had them. Check it out, you can buy a real one: http://www.platinumfighters.com/#!bf-109e/c7r0 |

Why? There are none on the real plane. |

DD this looks great. I wonder if you need to add braces to the vertical tailplanes? |

Wait, you go outside and when you come back someone else has done all the detailing? Does Poppy show up and do it? I'm confused. |

Back in awhile when all the detail is done. |

Thanks. According to the Squadron book I have, the armor plate doesn't show up until the E model. The armor plate on the Fw-190 was attached to the canopy, sliding out of the way when the canopy was opened. |

The cockpit and all the other detail looks really nice, DD. I don't know about this version, but on later versions the armor plate/headrest was attached to the canopy and swung out of the way as it opened. Makes sense, especially when you had to jettison the canopy to bail out. One less thing to bonk you as you escaped the plane. |

Ready for the canopy. |

I glued the armor plate pattern from the kit to a piece of cardstock to strengthen it and allow the bend. |

Bucket seat to scale, armor plate and instrument panel from kit, all else imagination and what I could find. |

The ME 109 had the first inline fuel ejection system in order to keep the engine running smoothly because it was inverted. One of the reasons its prefromance was grate.Seen it on a show wings of combat. |

Most of the ME-109s still flying are based on Spanish-built versions. Many were bought from Spain to film "The Battle of Britain", along with a few Ju-88s.I think they even used a Spanish Ju-52 in that movie as well. The main difference between them and the German version was their engine was upright, with the cylinder heads on top, whereas the Me-109 use an inverted engine, with the heads on the bottom. It's easy to notice the shift in the exhaust ports. CORRECTION: Not Ju-88s, but HE-111s. For the movie the production crew bought 50 HE-111s. No CGI in those days. Just the real things. |
