Ingenius, Poppy, I never would've thought of it, or the shrink tubing either. I guess I'm not very imaginative.

Shrink tubing...that is.

Great minds think alike...Exactly how I made the LG for the Rat...except shink tubing from Radio Shack was added instead of tape...put it over the tubes, heat it a bit and it shrinks to size tightly!

I am glad you posted this as I have not as yet thought about a rear wheel for the Rat!
poppy, Comment for image # 721519 Mar 08 18:09
The main gear is 4 pcs. of al. tubing, wire from kit, spreader bars are sheet styrene cut to shape, trim tape, and fine phone wire for brake lines. All are ca'd and painted steel. I left the shock unpainted. Tail wheel is a 1/48 P-38 mainwheel from goody box, wood dowel, trim tape and sheet styrene cut and bent to shape. Tire is charcoal black.

Super fabrication....I am almost finished with the fuse on the Rat....the poppy process!
Jedi, Comment for image # 721519 Mar 08 17:56
Hey Poppy what do you use for the tail wheel that attaches to the tire and how do you make that shock on the main gear?
poppy, Image # 721519 Mar 08 17:48

Main gear and tailwheel finished.

It's just really hard to believe this started as a Guillow's kit. That is, until you see who's building it. Beautiful!!
