you might be a redneck if you put your new 3d printer ontop of your old 2d printer. |

Yes, real nice for your first balsa effort. I like the alum. tape idea. |

crob, Welcome to the forum! Balsa is a much different medium then plastic. I've done both all my life, but am focusing now on balsa with 3D printed details. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences. |

using 5x7 flash cards to mimic the real alum. panels. Covered in alum. tape for details to be pressed into, rivets, panel lines etc. |

Here is my Cub 95 - first balsa model! Long time plastic builder converted over, mostly. 3D printed landing gear and details on the way. |

Hello and thanks,
This build is actually about 30 years old, my dad built it for my grandfather. He used steel welding rods for the fuselage and the guillows cub 95 kit for the wings and feathers covered in Monokote. Its quite heavy and sinks like a rock - just like the real one... 30 years hasn’t been so kind, so I took it down and did a full restoration and repaint. My grandfather was a fireman, hence the pilot figure. He passed several years ago, this restoration was done for my moms birthday - also a Breezy owner and pilot. I'm basically the only one in my family that doesn't fly - yet...

Yay - that's a great pic - does Grandpop still fly? |

Nice one! I always "fancied" one of these in my flying days. Bought a Lazair 111e instead as less costly. |

Thanks for posting these. This looks like it was a fun build with all that exposed framework!
