Well the “schnoz” is framed. A bit of TLC tomorrow. As you probably have learned thru your experiences, the port side framing was a “walk in the park”! |

It is nice to know what to do and the sequence to follow. |

I think the Nunzio should have "schnoz" rather than a nose. |

I just completed the other side. Photos later after the glue dries and the wood is trimmed. Hindsight tells me cardboard would have made this task easier. |

Very interesting with all those compound curves. Very nice job of getting them all work together. |

After viewing the framing work by DD utilizing 1/16 stringers, I had an epiphany. Realizing that I have accumulated quite a bit of this dimensional balsa, I was able to plank half of Nunzio’s nose. |

I hope to complete the planking tomorrow. After sanding, filling, and sanding again, the nose will be covered with aluminum. |

I started planking the nose today. I steel wooled the turtle and put some additional stain on and waited, then buffed with a cloth. The balsa and bass do accept stain differently but today,s result was satisfactory. I may change the finishing plan. Photos of the plane show that the stain on the originals was not even and consistent. I have time to decide, first a nose to fabricate |

Actually I think it's looking right nice. I like the contrast. |

I did not plan on wood finish here. Black is in the plan. I stained it to see what it looked like. The turle deck is balsa, the sides bass. |
