Thanks, Dale. Those vanes are the last thing to make so now I can finish the detailing. I do like the touch they add:-) |

I was reading about the P-80 prototype and the intake problem was mentioned, but nothing said about the solution. Anyway, those intake vanes do look good on your model ! |

Those intake vanes are the result of David following the directions. ; ) |

No, Brian. Dale, I don't know what their design function is. |

Very nice piece of work David ! Are those intake vanes a result of Lockheed's problem of having the intake ducts collapsing inward from engine suction during ground testing of the P-80 ? |

Main landing gear doors have been added. The vanes in the intakes were made from .020 styrene and balsa sticks. 1 1/4 ounces of lead weight was implanted in the bottom of nose to bring it to a three point stance. |

Well done, David, what a nice gift to Debra for her to remember her brave uncle by. |

DD, the Arizona Military Museum is having an art show. I think some of your work in the exhibit would be greatly appreciated by the public. Would you be interested in contributing? If so, send me an email: jamesbolek@gmail.com |

Ha! I have plans to build all of them. My wife has plans for me to do other stuff. Once I retire... Actually I am starting an F-16 for another museum exhibit, after that a 1/6 LOH Loach helicopter for the same museum. Then back to my own stuff. I need to finish a Sterling P-26, then maybe the F-80.

Do you plan to build it or stash it? |

I just won (on eBay) the Cleveland "Master" series of the Shooting Star. They say it is 3/4" scale, where your kit is the 30" scale series (1/15.6 scale). It will be interesting to compare the two kits and see if there is any difference. There are four printwood sheets that are doubles (T1-T4), and one print wood sheet that is single (T5). There are two sheets not printed except "To be used as filler". |
