Those clear plastic file folder sleeves might work - I have some 4.5 thou, 5 thou, and 6 thou plastic that is pliable yet probably strong enough with the frames glued to it. |

Just checked with my Hobby shop and there is .010 available. That would bend easier and not crack. |

Don, I picked up some .020 Lexan at my local hobby shop. We used it at Titan to make the windshield on the Tornado, also the landing light lenses. Although it was .060 it would bend easy. Add some heat after bending it would set to shape. You can bend and crease the .020 material with out cracking. Might work. |

OK, I need some help. I've been trying to make this 3 piece "canopy" for a month now with varying degrees of failure. Anybody have an idea? Is there clear plastic which is pliable like cardstock? |

Beautiful model Don. You did good.! Marvelous job. Had a chance to see the full sized Ryan Fireball up close (it was in derelict condition) at the Planes of Fame museum in Chino, Calif. |

Thanks. This is Matty Laird's color scheme and his 1930 "Solution" to beating the Travelaire Mystery Ship.
By the way - there's a Ryan "Fireball" kit by Cleveland on Ebay. |

Thanks Ray. Side panels are 1/16 balsa, painted blue first and after it was thoroughly dried, a coat of black wiped immediately with a damp paper towel. An experiment, but it worked OK. |

Btw, great job! Not easy to build a custom racing plane. |

Don, you're not alone in the paint mess dept. Learned myself the hard way too, especially when it comes to masking soft covering. Always used decals or blank white decal sheets and simply cut out the numbers. Sorry. |
