I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

All I can say is... Wow... Incredible.

When I taught chemistry he taught the labs! Been with him for years now. In fact he traveled with me to Russia and Ukraine.

how did you become by gumby's services, john?
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 3359923 Mar 15 17:40
He informed me that he is departing the shop at the end of the week. Off to pick lettuce and melons in the south. He said he will be back for next winter's construction. I really do not need his help in carving an airscrew as I have been to that rodeo before:-)

What is as amazing as this cobweb of rigging is that it is completely functional on this model. More than impressive!!!

Is the pilot wearing his harness?

Sure shows up against the white. It looks good from all angles. Nice work. How do you suppose the original would have fared in this attitude?

Glad the little Slacker finally showed up. The rigging is quite impressive.

The web of flight and bracing wire is best viewed ventrally.

With Gumby back at work, the rigging process proceeded to conclusion.

To a modeler the rigging provides detail. Making the model more authentic. To a pilot, the rigging wire was life and death. Cables stretch with time, fatigue, and snap. Wire tension controls wing alignment, incidence angle, and rigidity. The “Rigger” was an important member of the flight crew. Wire length and tension is influenced by change in temperature. All of the former variables influence lift, maneuverability. and flight. In the “Fog of war” I wonder how diligently the issue of proper cable tensioning was addressed. How many flight mishaps occurred to lack of attention to cable tension.

The wind of flight must have provided quite a symphony as it whistled thru the wires. Perhaps the melody was not perceived due to the exhaust of a 12 cylinder engine and straight exhaust pipes!

With the rigging completed, we can permanently install the engine.

JG, I finished the install of fight and bracing wires. I am developing the pictures and they will be available shortly:-)). Like framing wings the rigging process feels so good when it stops!

It is hard to realize that these are all functional. SUPER!!

Given your recent weather, you might want to reconsider getting rid if the skis.

JG...now the maze takes form!
