A birdcage canopy will have to be made. |

Very nice poppy. I will assume that the kit canopy will not be used and that you have another that will fit this application? |

Sort of. Farther than the Spitfire but could only just get to German border. |

From a 1/48 scale plastic kit scaled up to 1/16. I used the kit former drawings and added the top section. |

When I was 20 and moving from NY to WA I drove about 800 miles a day. Ohio tried to take me out with freezing rain, Nebraska is horribly flat and boring, and Wyoming was very windy but gas was only $0.99. These days I cringe at the 800 mile round trip to see my folks. I shall refer to Poppy as "Iron Bottom" from now on. |

Someday when you're an "oldie" and you've built 50 or 60 of these I shall very much expect that what you build will make this look like a toy from post war Japan. Poppy and I share the same passion to make a model look as good as we can albeit we build completely differently. I consider this to be the best thing I ever built and am honored he would want it. Hopefully what we've done will serve as inspiration to anyone with the same passion and love of airplanes. Now, I've a painting to work on...:-) |
