1000 miles to see the master. That sounds like a pilgrimige. And I bet it was.

Yep! Actually was a very pretty drive, in its own way.

1000 miles one way? Across the desert?

I have to say that I do admire both DD and poppy for their incredible model building skills. Myself being a "newbie", I visit both of your hangers every day and try to learn from the both of you. I'm getting better with each build and hopefully one day I will have a model that's as beautiful as this F4 is, one day!!!!! :)

After the museum visit and a short bus tour of a portion of Davis-Monthan, David gave me a private guided tour of the entire Davis-Monthan Air Force base. What a day!!

Thank you, Sir. I gotta say it looks better on your desk than in my closet.

A visit to the Pima museum was a highlight of my trip to visit Mr. Duckett.

If you like airplanes, the Pima Air Museum has over 300 of them. All kinds in 4 hugh buildings and 80 acres outside.

DD checking out the Mig 15.

DD's models look good in pictures. They are all perfect seen in person.

DD's Phantom has a new teomprary place of honor in my home.

My visit with the master himself. It was memorable and well worth the 1000 mi. drive to Marana.

Paul, I am thinking about Col. Robert Baseler's "Big Stud". Olive Drab top, neutral gray bottom, Red cowl, and yellow and black checkerboards on tail feathers.

Hey Poppy...lookin' forward to your Razorback kitbash. What camo/paint scheme are you thinkin' for this "jug"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ahovMT6qCw
poppy, Image # 2728321 Sep 12 19:42

Started kit bash project by modifying plans. Have to redraw and cut new formers before I can begin construction.

And look what just arrived.
