I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

When I first came here in 1974 I did lots of exploring but I was 33. Now at 76, not so much. :-)

do you hike into the desert, dd, seems like it would be fun with that view?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3916101 Aug 17 11:29
Flying around here in summer can be exciting.

As the storms progress down the mountains they disappear. No way I would try to paint them realistically:-)

Excellent to fly around - but best to avoid getting into the large masses! (if you are prudent!)

Super active clouds there - they look quite near the mountain tops! Oh to be able to paint clouds like that.

During the monsoon season huge clouds build up during the day and often produce spectacular thunderstorms.

Taken with the 70 - 300mm lens. Mount Lemmon, at 9159', is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. If you look carefully you can see an observatory on top. THe TV transmission towers to the right are on Mount Bigelow.

This house was built in 1971 so the lot is quite a bit bigger than with new homes and the vegetation has been here for awhile, as well. The house is made of slump block which is widely used in the southwest. Slump block is concrete which is removed from the form while not quite set. The Arizona Room, and I believe the patio, were added at a later date.

What a cool house David! Many happy years to come in your new digs. Now, back to building.

It really looks nice DD. And you still have a mountain view. I like the Arizona room.

I don't know exactly. The hummingbirds around here are small and drab compared to their cousins. I have hung a feeder but they have shown little interest yet.
