Yes, for more info check out my page showing how I did it all and what I used.

Did you use the casting material from Micro Mark?

These are great acrylics. Color options unlimited. Cost more than reasonable and workability with their fast drying times is their greatest asset. Hint: spend a few extra dollars to buy the color wheel. Not only is it a great free flight saucer when you throw it, the mixing charts really work!

This is it. I thin it with water to make it easier to apply and paint in thin coats. The D 8 has at least six coats.

Wonderful, David. Everything looks very good. I wonder what some weathering would look like on this one... :)

David, is this the Liquitex you normally use and do you thin if out any. Great paint job and the prop certainly looks authentic.

It shows that you're an artist of the first degree. I envy you for your talent.

Beautifully artistic work!!!!

Thanks for all the kind words! The decals are shot so I painted everything. The prop is washed, literally, with raw sienna and the red is cadmium red medium hue painted over a light gray primer coat. The other two are titanium white and mars black. All the colors are straight from the tube and have no other color mixed with them. All the masking was done with regular Scotch tape.

This is beautiful. There is something about acrylics, the red is great. Another one to add to my list after I finish the Comper, Camel, Spitfire, Fokker triplane.....

Good lookin prop.

That is a fine looking model, David, just perfect. How do you do it so neatly? Mine has glue all over it and It's almost impossible for me to be able to sand and make a straight line with it. It always has a curve in it. But, I enjoy it, neverthe less.

The correctly carved prop....

The Lieutenants notwithstanding, DD's D 8 is finished.
