I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

The geometry (monkey Motion) was calculated by the Helicopter guys (which I am definitely not!) and I began to CAD up all the parts, then fabricate all the parts (minus the gears and motor), assemble, and test this thing. It fly successfully in the simulated Mars atmosphere in JPL's HUGE vacuum chamber the test all the Earth orbit satellites in. Just nine little "Hops" but it actually did better that the 4 channel vehicle. Here's a JPL video. I made most of the Rail vehicle, and my two channel is at 1:57ish. http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/video/details.php?id=1355e.

This is something I did for work last year. JPL came to Aerovirnment (where I work) to test the feasibility of flying a rotor-craft on Mars. After a successful proof with a Rail-Guided model in a very large vacuum chamber to simulate Mars atmosphere at JPL, we were asked for a Free-Flight model to further prove the concept. We decided that some control would be needed so a 2 channel (throttle and yaw)) would suffice. Atter further consideration a 4 axis craft was decided on though the Boss Man still wanted the 2 channel for backup. Hence I was told I was on my own to develop the 2 channel vehicle.

After a couple lunch-time builds and after hours, the tail feathers are done and the wing is almost ready for shaping. Blazing florescent lighting doesn't make for very dramatic lighting. The laser cutting on this model is superb.

We all probably lost interest in models at one time or another. For me it was girls and playing music. Getting married made me lose interest in chasing girls.

Ted graciously sent a whole bunch to me and my son Jimmy (jfinn here at VA) years ago. I still have them all. David has also been very generous to us and we have not forgotten. James is now 15 yrs old, in High School, and taller than me (I'm 6'2"). A bit taller than than he was during posts of his FW-190 and his Guillows B-25 (James Doolittle's aircraft). Jimmy, quite interestingly, just showed interest in building again (Thank Goodness). Twin Mustang. Thanks DD.

Laminated parts for the vertical, horizontal, and one wingtip (today the second should be done) as well as some other stuff.

Building at work since there is no room at home.
