Well, well. What a delight! There are at least two males around here. I'll try to get some shots of the other birds which come for dinner.

David I just looked a second time at this bird, that's not a cardinal, that's a male Pyrrhuloxia.(I've never seen one.) The cardinal has a black face mask and an orange beak. Alex

OK I'm working from PETERSONS FIELD GUIDE, WESTERN BIRDS. These three don't occur in my area. From top to bottom I think they are a Hooded Oriole (Page 313); a white winged dove (page 208) and a female Gila Woodpecker (page 229) Alex

Many thanks!! The canopy is attached with medium CA and one small gap in front was filled with white glue which dries clear. I used painted strips of masking tape across the top and then masked off the bottom and painted it. I had to use filler only in a couple of small spots at the very back and also at the front. Finally I cut the front framing in one piece from the masking tape. I do have, and sometimes use, canopy glue but I'll use CA if I can get away with it. The paint itself acts as a filler, as well and there's about six coats around the base.

Looks so good, David. How did you mount the canopy? Canopy glue, filler, then paint?
