The "Y- bones" are fitted and will be added later with a couple of other pieces. |

Propane torch to heat, bend with a rod (small Phillips screw driver) in the end, quit when it starts to kink, GENTLY tap kink out on "anvil" while still hot, repeat, repeat, etc. I started at the end of a 12" tube. One thing I learned - don't pick it up too soon with your fingers. It's really hot! |

Very intricate work. How did you achieve the curves w/o major kinking?? |

All that and they hardly show! There's a lot more room in the real thing. Know they retract forward, but I just don't see how they made them fit. |

Finally found some good reference photos and this is my streamlined version of a pretty complicated gear system. If you don't know aboutit, look at www.cybermodeler.com. |

thanks don, did you carve the hub out of block of wood or did you use something more similar to the shape? |
Don C, Image # 33183 | 15 Feb 15 11:35 |
Brian, this is the progression on the props. Couldn't find wooden ones small enough. Total diameter is 5 1/8" There was more "clean up" after this shot and may be some more later. |

Glue - sctually Testor's green. Gives time to align everything. Hence the shims. Had to let it set up ov ernight. I did give the hub a coat of CA earlier to hopefully give it a little more strength. It's pine. There's a little spline on the blade to slip into the hub. |

how's the hub attached to the props don? |
