In the factory they had 2 guys holding a form and another with the spray gun. Sure must have made getting the camo lines about the same on each side.

Don, I know you Uncle's passing brings great sorrow. At 93 he had a wonderful long life. A life filled with experiences and stories that I am sure he shared with you. He will be watching you as you complete his plane!

Friends, it is with heavy heart that I pos this photo of Captain Richard B. Clauson, USAAF, a member pf the greatest generation, who pased away last nignt eight weeks shy of his 93rd birthday. It is his C-46 I have been recreating this winter. I'll be gone for a while. If you know any of these guys, visit and talk to them while you can.

Thanks. This far in I think I'll go with the first sentence. It's called safety first..or chicken. We'll see how it evens out with a few more coats.

I like this as is. You might try adding just a small amount of red but red will also darken it so use sparingly. If you get it too dark, a mixture of yellow and white will lighten. It should be closer to cream than lemon and make the mixture, do not add white and yellow separately.

Different angle

David. Here are 2 shots with no artificial light at all. This is a stock acrylic. Ihave tried adding yellow and/or brown in varying amounts, but this is closer to the Model Master OD than my mixes. I could use some advice from the artist. As you mentioned. Seems just a tad too green.

Thanks, Bill. I'm going with the OD over gray AAF version that my uncle flew to England. It's really kind of an ugly color scheme, but it did serve a purpose. I have it's numbers and a couple of photos. I'm hoping at that 93 he can still appreciate it.

Xanadu: Certainly (short version). The big item in the center is called a "saw vise" (or vice). It's purpose is to hold the saw so that it may be (1) jointed (Make all of the teeth on the saw the same elevation by running a file length-wise down the saw plate. Then(2)Sharpened by filing the teeth with a triangular file. The other three items are different versions of "saw sets" that actually bend the teeth of the saw so that it leaves a a kerf that that is just a tiny bit wider than the saw plate itself so that the saw does not bind when cutting. Alternate teeth are bend in alternating directions.

After doing a little infilling, I can really appreciate the work you have put into this model thus far.
