Ya John, I know...I committed one of the deadly sins of painting. The good news is I'll be able to save it. Just gotta tape off and repaint the top part of the wings and part of the fuselage. All the other areas look good. Next to punching the testors guy in the face I think I will quit using that particular clear coat all together. She will be finished! I have not yet begun to fight!!! |

Gilding the lily....tisk, tisk. Always test spray, before you coat...don't ask how I learned this! |

Check the clear coat for water. There exists a water based clear lacquer that does indeed turn the white yellow. EPA urged using it, but most model shops quit for this reason. They went back to the solvent base. GOOD LUCK |

You probably can't tell to well by looking at the photo but you can probably see the build up at the end of the flap. This stuff goes on fairly thick too. Basically Im going to regroup, sand, touch up the white, then see what to do about clear coat. I've come too far to screw up and end it now. |

I had a set back today....I tried using testors high gloss clear coat and it started to create a yellow film over the white and some of the other spots. I started to wipe off the white areas before it could settle in. I think I can save the paint job but Im gonna need to sand it and maybe repaint. Not sure if the clear coat is the problem. |
