I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

It works but its tedious work when your measuring and laying down the first rolls of tape. I like the results so far but I think its gonna be a little while before I do checkers again :P

Thanks for sharing this. I am thinking of trying this on the bottom of the lower wings and stab on the Great Lakes I am currently working on.

Thank you for sharing the paint layout for checkerboard patterns. Ingenious and simple.

For those of you who wanted to know how I was doing the checker tail pattern. I criss crossed the tape leaving several squares to be painted. I will do the same thing again, this time covering up the squares I already painted.

Thanks guys. Your right David, the tail will be checker board as well. So far its been a pain setting up the checker tail pattern but I'm pleased with how it turned out on the canopy and landing gear doors. I will have to do one set of checkers, take the tape off, retape, and paint the other set. I will basically be doing this process twice.

I think your right. I will be interested in seeing the paint layout for painting checker boards
David Duckett, Comment for image # 2534910 Mar 12 08:10
I think it will be checkerboard like the landing gear doors.

Everything came out pretty nice the past few nights. Barely had any bleed through. Gotta love tamiya masking tape!

This will be the final scheme. P-51 "Miss Suzi Q" was owned by a pilot named Ken Burnstine. He used to compete with it at the Reno air races in the 70's. In 1976, while flying over the race coarse he attempted a Split S maneuver. Unfortunately his misjudged the required altitude and bought the farm on the second roll.
