This is a really cool looking model. I love the hook assembly! |

unmasked - difficult to paint with the wings installed.. |

white stripes with red pinstriping..the least common or reproduced version I could find.
This model gave me fits - not because of degree of difficulty but because of all the unforced errors I made during construction. I literally made every mistake in the book - sometimes twice - during this project. |

still needs a prop, rigging, radio antenna, and a wind screen |

the aircraft had a pair of aluminum panels wrapping the forward fuselage just behind the firewall and extending back to the midpoint of the main landing gear struts. Tha panel was tight to the firewall but open along the rear vertical edge. Since the cardstock worked so well on the cockpit coaming I decided to use the same material for these panels. Soaked in the Deluxe 'Sand n Seal' sauce they should be fine once cured |

Hiya Bob - and thanks!
Mephisto here keeps things in order whenever I’m off taking care of other matters. |

Thanks Ed..I can’t say that the planes I build are too uncommon. Maybe just not mainstream like the Mustangs and Spitfires etc. nothing wrong with those - I plan to build one of each at some point. At first though I am having fun on the ‘fringes’ of aviation I guess. Even though the planes I tend toward building are noteworthy in their civilian achievements. The Sparrowhawk is fascinating because of the way it was deployed as well as its combination of features. Biplane, radial, gull wing, spats, colorful prewar
paints, open cockpit, etc..it has everything all in one little package. I’m hoping I can bring it all home. |
