I'd say this is more of a "Treasure" than a Stash.

These, and the P-80, are all in, or close to, 3/4 scale. The P-80 and F9F are slightly off.

Self-adhesive vinyl decals from the UK are from the same manufacturer as those used on the Lancaster. I'll use two of the larger ones which are 2".

The plans call for upper and lower keels to be 1/16" stock 1/8" wide and there are no side keels. I did that on the P-80 but did not build each half as shown here. That caused a substantial twist towards the rear which required extra wood and repair work. This time I'm building the two halves on 1/16" stock and will put all the stringers on before removing them from the board. This kit is designed for rubber power and if built according to the plans should be quite light. I plan to make the canopy and the nose solid and will paint them as I did on other models.

These are all the 3/32" stringers I have but more are on the way.

The cataract surgery has allowed me to see much better but I can't paint in the middle of the night but I can see well enough to do some work on a model.

This set is 1/24 scale, get me an address and when I make copies, I'll send a set. I need to make a few copies of the parts sheets.

What size is it?

I just got the plans from Cleveland for the Electra and it looks like we'll both be cutting well into 2014, but it is relaxing.

The nacelle formers are also 3/32 stock and the wing ribs are cut from 1/16" stock. I don't plan to build it right away but I like to get the major parts cut out.

...and glued 1/32" balsa in the holes left from removing the parts from the printwood. I then used the pieces as patterns and made all new formers from 3/32" stock and I've notched them for 3/32" stringers.

So...I cut out the major parts from the basswood supplied...

Well, I'm three years older than the kit.....:)
Xanadu, Comment for image # 3024711 Dec 13 21:32
Maybe petrified shrunken balsa.....darned stuff is probably older than you are David.......;)

I can't believe this kit is from 1944. David, if you were to stack the wood with some kind of weight on top, do you think it might make the sheets straight? I always lay my balsa flat on my work table with small weights to prevent warping. I know it's not balsa, but you could give it a shot.

Oh Yeah...I remember the day. Thanks for sharing.
David Duckett, Image # 3024711 Dec 13 17:42

The printwood. It's marked as 1/16"and is supposed to be balsa but is in fact 1/32" basswood. Some of it is a bit warped but it will make excellent patterns.

Kit is from 1944.

Kit contents. Those wooden wheels weigh 6 grams each.
