I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

The plan has no stringers on the top of the ribs but you know that's not going to happen. The 18" ruler shows the size. All the notches for these stringers will be done with the xacto.

I wrapped the plan around the building board to keep it intact. This is the only thing that will be built directly on the plan. Patterns for for the other structures were done with traving paper. As I've used nothing from the kit I'll be putting it back on ebay when I'm finished with it.

I used the parts in the kit as patterns for the pieces I'm actually using to build the kit. I left extra wood at each end of the rib so it can be cut to fit precisely.

It's very important to insure the leading and trailing edges are prevented from warping by the addition of the ribs so they are pinned in place on the outsideof, not through, the wood. Due to the curvature of the bottom of the ribs, the aileron spar must also be blocked up.

The plans say to block up the leading and trailing edges but do not say how much. I pinned the front spar in place and then set the outer, inner, and middle ribs in place. THe leading and trailing edges were then set in place using the ribs as guides. The leading edge is 1/4" x 1/2", spars and trailing edge are 1/8" stock, and the aileron spar is 3/16" stock.

I don't put much faith in interpreting art unless it's done to make a point. It's simply whether I like it or not. I paint simply because it's fun.

I have trouble interpreting art. i'm more science oriented.

No & no. I am barely computer literate.:-) It would be correct to say I use the computer as a tool in both painting and building models and I'm fairly sure that if I were part of the generation that can't function without some form of computer in their hands I would most assuredly be doing something artistic. Have you ever been to an art museum? There's really nothing you can have in your hands quite as sensual as a paint brush.

are you artistic computer wise? do you ever make your art on the computer?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3104708 Mar 14 16:11
Have you ever been to an art museum? No I do not use the computer to paint. I have a great fear of getting so involved with a program like that that I would never get anything else done. I watch less than 30 minutes of TV per day. I do have an app for the iPad to manipulate photos but it is fairly simple, nowhere near photoshop. It did, however, provide me with the drawing I've been painting, number by number, since the first of November. Yes it is the digital age but no digital device will ever give your hands and mind the sensual feeling a paint brush does.

what's the paint brush in the digital age? do you ever "paint" on the computer dd?

In my mid twenties I played Dylan and the Doors as loud as my stereo would go, drank lots of beer, and painted masterpieces. These days it's coffee and a line from My Fair Lady, "an atmosphere as quiet as an undiscovered tomb". And paint by number and whittlin'.

So that wasn't you I saw at the Metallica concert?
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3102406 Mar 14 07:55
Both, and some various other materials if they work. I'm not a metal person.
