Thank you gentlemen for your nice comments - just wish I had the confidence to draw panel lines although the thread idea seems to work on this occasion. It was all sprayed with a satin clear varnish. Tissue paper next..... |

The wood veneer panels have been stuck down with a slight gap which was filled with brown cord for panel lines. |

Albatros fuselage now covered with a thin veneer wood. First the balsa wood body had lines drawn for the panel shapes - then each panel was copied onto tracing paper and then stuck onto the veneer to be cut out. The panels were stuck down with a diluted wood glue and held in place with rubber bands. Next to do is stain the wood a colour and the panel lines. |
