Thank you gentlemen for your nice comments - just wish I had the confidence to draw panel lines although the thread idea seems to work on this occasion. It was all sprayed with a satin clear varnish. Tissue paper next.....

Every time I start thinking I'm doing OK, somebody comes along and ups the ante. Impressive! and humbling.

What a beauty! Look forward to seeing those panel lines on the finished aircraft - that sounds like a cool alternative to the pen!

The wood veneer panels have been stuck down with a slight gap which was filled with brown cord for panel lines.

I will do anything than draw panel lines unlike Poppy, David and the rest of you guys who do incredible work with theirs :)

Very sharp looking model. The motor and the wood finish really make it shine.

Albatros fuselage now covered with a thin veneer wood. First the balsa wood body had lines drawn for the panel shapes - then each panel was copied onto tracing paper and then stuck onto the veneer to be cut out. The panels were stuck down with a diluted wood glue and held in place with rubber bands. Next to do is stain the wood a colour and the panel lines.
