This is more like a bush and blooms most of the summer. The majority of the other flowers are all quite small and will be gone in a couple of weeks. |

And it's really a quick and easy method. Like Chinese food, the work is all in the prepping. Cooking, or covering, takes only minutes. |

I used to lay the silkspan in the sink and use a damp sponge to get it damp. Covering with wet tissue always gave good results. |

Brevity is a virtue. No sense wasting the bandwidth you're paying for with the photographic equivalent of verbosity. |

Most Tucsonians think that all the time. I tend to agree with them. |

When it dries I used 220 wet/dry sandpaper to sand away the excess silkspan. The sanding block is also used for the same purpose. Each side required two pieces. |

Outside surrounded by large cardboard boxes from Amazon which contained large canvases.....The entire structure has several coats of nitrate dope on it and is quite smooth enough but I want this one covered. Dip the silkspan in the water, lay it on the towel, wipe it slightly to remove excess water, lay it down, smooth it out, and paint dope all over it. Absolutely guaranteed not to deform the wood! :-) |
