Thought I would wait just a bit for the dust to settle down. Mr. James Good, I sincerely welcome you to that rarefied world of traditions of T-shirts being cut off & joining those who have "Slipped the surely bonds of earth.... -Sky

Congratulations James, good luck, and thanks for all you've done for us on this site.

Even in Phoenix it was spectacular. Not a cloud in the sky, a great moonrise (btw, there is such a thing as a Tequila Moonrise, which involves tequila, of course, and several types of rum. Since we were gonna watch from the rooftop, that drink was not advisable), and the color was pretty nice. Not as dramatic as your photo, though.

Totality at about 8:45 pm. I've seen several lunar eclipses over the years and there are photos on here of some of them. This was certainly one of the best! When it's at this stage it is very dark and the stars are simply amazing!

We were socked in too... No moon at all. Thank you for this photo...

Thanks for the pic, we had cloud cover last night in FL, not much of a view

Congratulations James! I can still remember the feeling as the wheels left the ground on my solo back in '66.

Congrats. That is a real milestone!! I got about 10 hrs. instruction in a Piper Tri-Pacer about 50 yrs. back. I quickly decided flying wasn't for me.

Nope, it's a polished, 1948 Ercoupe. Anything with two vertical fin&rudders is pretty cool, right? :)

Thanks, all! julinick, I had a similar thing. I solo'd a 172 about 10 years ago, but life things happened and I never finished. This time I will! The next step is to buy an aircraft. My car has been sold (motorbike only now, wife has a car), so try and guess which David Duckett model will be acquired!

Congratulations James! I had about 30 hours logged and over 200 unofficial before age 17, then cars and girls (not necessarily in that order) got in the way...
