It works but its tedious work when your measuring and laying down the first rolls of tape. I like the results so far but I think its gonna be a little while before I do checkers again :P |

Thanks for sharing this. I am thinking of trying this on the bottom of the lower wings and stab on the Great Lakes I am currently working on. |

Thank you for sharing the paint layout for checkerboard patterns. Ingenious and simple. |

For those of you who wanted to know how I was doing the checker tail pattern. I criss crossed the tape leaving several squares to be painted. I will do the same thing again, this time covering up the squares I already painted. |

Thanks guys. Your right David, the tail will be checker board as well. So far its been a pain setting up the checker tail pattern but I'm pleased with how it turned out on the canopy and landing gear doors. I will have to do one set of checkers, take the tape off, retape, and paint the other set. I will basically be doing this process twice. |

I think your right. I will be interested in seeing the paint layout for painting checker boards |

I think it will be checkerboard like the landing gear doors. |

Everything came out pretty nice the past few nights. Barely had any bleed through. Gotta love tamiya masking tape! |

This will be the final scheme. P-51 "Miss Suzi Q" was owned by a pilot named Ken Burnstine. He used to compete with it at the Reno air races in the 70's. In 1976, while flying over the race coarse he attempted a Split S maneuver. Unfortunately his misjudged the required altitude and bought the farm on the second roll. |
