Talk about detail...WOW!!! This is a plastic kit, is it not??
David Duckett, Comment for image # 940910 Mar 10 09:38

Sorry, for some reason I can't get the links to be entered. Google Hasegawa 1/8 DR.1. There are some real nice builds.

All, check out some of these sites to see what DD is in for: , , , Enjoy.

Shoot, I can't imagine building the Guillow's version when you'll have this one. You won't hurt my feelings if you choose to sell it or give it away. I'm glad to hear your painting were a hit, hopefully you don't get burned out despite having a very worthy subject.

Admittedly this would probably be better suited to those of you who like all the detail but...a chance like this doesn't happen often so I'm keeping it. It has a 32.10" wingspan and is left uncovered. After the reunion I now have 4 nore paintings to do, 1 shield and 3 of the yellow abstract, plus I still haven't finished the F-100, so it will be awhile until I actually build it. That will not stop me from drooling over it. AND...Steve sent me the Guillows kit of the DR 1, as well. For now I'll just kick back and enjoy watching everyone else's work.

This was one of the most highly detailed and accurate kits produced. Only Proctor kits could match. Enjoy this one DD, it will be a museum piece.

Simply put....beautiful. I saw a Sopwith from Model Expo and the detailing is incredible. I forsee many a late night enjoying this one.

Wow...stunning kit. I cannot wait to see it come to life.
Creosotewind, Comment for image # 940924 Sep 08 12:16
An amazing gift. When new, these kits went for several hundred dollars. On eBay now, they go for much higher. Extremely detailed, truly a museum piece. Congratulations Dave. You are worthy of the kit. We look forward to this build.

Wow, that is impressive! I think I can see "1:8 scale..." in the upper left corner of the box.
