After construction, sanding, and sealing the fuse diameter is 1/32 large than the plan. 1/64 of an inch on each side.

Fuse completed. I usually use Elmer's wood filler. Inexpensive and readily available. I tried the Hobbico balsa filler this time. Both work the same.

Makes me shiver sitting here in my tee shirt and shorts with the door open and warm sun blazing down. Ah sweet summer time !

22" in Central PA on top of the 18" last Friday! It's a heck of a sight. I'm guessing the North Pole is moving to Pennsylvania?

Guess the Dauntless will be cracking along now, seen as there isn't much to do outside. There is only so many snowmen a person can make!! Running the risk of getting into something completely unrelated to this web site, Glogal Warming is a crock!!! Does anyone remember Y2K??

Snow is OK except when it covers the satellite dish. Cannot access the dish because too much snow. Wuffy not happy. I told her to watch the beauty of the snow fall...like the ancients did. She was not impressed!

I have heard the ancients speak of this ...snow.

Great shot! What a contrast to DD's backyard photos. What is your official depth? I measured a non drifted part of my yard and came up with 22"

I would never bring a model to a competion for I do not build to compete, I build for the pleasure of building. I wish this can of worms never opened. Lettuce close it!

Can I hear thunder? The giants are 'debating'! This is good. We are too nice on here!

That's bull and you know it. There are many aspects of your models that leave me open mouthed with admiration. Your cockpit interiors, engines, and level of detailing are such that I don't even try to compete. I am reluctant to point out any thing that I see as incorrect since everyone gets the same freedom to do as they please with their kit and obviously all of you haven't been building for a hundred years so you don't see the same things. Also the site has a history of being nice which is great but that discourages any criticism so if I say I disagree, that doesn't mean anything more than I said. The fact is that if you ever take a model, scale or otherwise, to any serious competition and judging, your plane will be nit-picked for all it's worth and points will be deducted for anything that's not right. That means that if the outline of the rudder is not right, just right, you lose points. For a plane to be increased in scale requires that every single piece of the plane be increased at the same rate so adding more layers on a frame will not make it more scale like, but will in fact, only make it fatter... To increase the scale would mean that the wheels, guns, and overall outline would need to be changed, as well. And by what alchemy will you increase the plastic parts, cowling and canopy, to fit? Your models are liked and emulated by many of the members here and by me, also. This site is becoming increasingly popular and many are looking here for ways to improve their skills and satisfaction of the hobby. I'm sure that your work is an inspiration to all and if I hold you to a higher standard, it comes with the territory.
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 1634010 Feb 10 04:08
When the whole plane is sheeted the scale just increases three dimensionally, It gets longer and wider the end result the same. I am truly sorry that you do not like my planes.
