I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

SBD, LG came in two flavors. This variant is from the mainly land based Marine, yellow, version. Though it will have a tail hook, and could land at sea on a carrier, it had a larger pneumatic tail wheel and distinct fairing thingy. Carrier based planes had a different fairing and a small solid rubber wheel.

Naaahhh but it must be a popular item cause around here I see lots of folks whose faces would break if they fell.

This side built second I bent the cardboard around a large dowel. No "elliptical delusional" wrinkles, just a smooth looking curve.

This side was constructed first. I formed the thingy with finger power. What appeared tp be winkles were "elliptical delusions" cause by stress on the cardboard. Though visible the surface bend is smooth ready for the Aluminum tape.

My son works for Lo'Real, I can hook you up with some facial filler that works well. One coat, no sanding!
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1658326 Feb 10 07:05
As I thought. I would have used filler and I've found that on these difficult sections three applications and sanding are required to get it smooth. After seeing the pictures of me that Joyce took, I'm much more aware of wrinkles.

Imperfections in the cardboard after bending....they are all gone now. Waiting for a coat of sealer to dry.

Wrinkles???
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1658326 Feb 10 04:53
The wrinkles resemble sandpaper.

The tubing on the LG slip over wood dowels glued into blocks in the wing root.

LG still needs doors, etc.
