Cheers, thanks for the advice.

My approach to this type of construction would be to glue the outline together, raise it to mid level of the center spar with wedges, glue in the ribs, sand the whole thing to airfoil section, then add the flat center section.

Ive built the tailplane flat. Then im going to raise it to the centre spar. I believe the ribs (unglued)are to be sanded to the tailplane section then cut to fit to the centre spar and glued. If im wrong someone inform me.

Sure I was an Accupuncturist in a former life..

Managed to get the wings built today. Started sanding leading edge down using sandpaper stuck to some shaped balsa.I think the tailplane has more pieces than my 1000 piece jigsaw of the Taj Mahal!!

Looking really good. It was mor than a forty year hiatus for me. And I have a couple more of the Westwings kits in my stash that I brought back from our last sojourn to the UK. WW also has some neat 1/24th scale planes. I like the idea of consant scale especially in military planes.

Using Davids build as a step by step guide ive duplicated the rib at w1 and added to the wing. hopefully i might be able to make the wings detatchable.

Either its because its 12.50am or im sure the spar at w2 was way out...

Dont't you think that if it had not been for the internet our beloved hobby would have died the death! I used to go into my local model shop and there would be kits from floor to ceiling. Now there are but a few and theyre usually stuck under the pre-built kits and remote control cars !!!

Looking good...we are all a little mad and twisted here. 24 years...nothing to worry about I think I waited almost 50 before trying to build a plane!

managed to come acroos a picture of me third from left at top winning an indoor competition in 1982 with a flight of 20.9 seconds with a glider called a zlin.

Mad? Good!! Following me just means your's will be better and that is clearly obvious in this first photo. I like these kits and to my eye, they look far more scale than any Guillows kit. The decals are superb! Jerry Campbell's very well made Dornier is another example of these kits. Oh, and he has another one here, as well. Check his hanger.

Well, its hard to follow on from David but ill need all the support i can get. Its been 24 yrs since i picked up a scalpel and a piece of balsa and i'm wondering why ive left it so long. I must be mad...
