Amazing process, David. We all are going to book this into our building techniques. Thank you!!!!

2 scoops, please. I put filler into the scoop and used the rounded end of a small paint brush to round the contact area. Any further refinements will be done when covering and painting. 5 cents, please.

With the tape removed, light sanding and some filler blend it in with the leading edge.
David Duckett, Image # 1380323 Aug 09 17:27

Just like surgery, the piece is masked to allow sanding and shaping.
David Duckett, Image # 1380223 Aug 09 17:26

A notch was cut from the leading edge and the scoop is glued in place.

Using tracing paper, I traced the scoop outline and then turned the paper over and traced it onto harder 3/32" stock with a pen. Remove the paper and outline the pattern with the pen. The rounded tip of the pen and a small amout of pressure "cuts" the outline into the wood which makes removal of the center wood easier.

we have to have really sticky tyres to keep our cars on the road and not only do we drive on the wrong side of the road but we only ever drive in reverse. Makes life interesting

Hey, Timed eposures are possible with DSLR digital camera's, but not normally with your basic point and shoot auto digital camera's. I'll add an example :-)

Timed exposures with digitals are possible but you may have to read the ins. manual. Some cameras have a setting for nighttime sky.
BillParker, Comment for image # 1375818 Aug 09 16:28
You can't do a timed exposure with a digital camera, can you? An old 35mm with a tripod, set about f8 with a 30 second exposure on TRIAX 400 asa film oughtta do it...
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1375818 Aug 09 15:16
Yes and thanks!

Consulting my little star chart, Venus is currently the middle of Gemini (with the twins Castor and Pollox visbile). Was this just before dawn?
