I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Very nice carving and fitting around those many compound curves.

The bottom is still to be done so it still looks a bit rough.

The nose job was completed without any blood spilled.

Nose job scheduled for tomorrow morning

That's why I leave the flying to you guys.

Not so much good eyes as suspicion that scale was sacrificed for flying needs. The nose cone of a real Sabre does not rotate about a central axis so it does not have to be symmetrical.

Steve's got great eyes! I traced the outline of the radome from the plan for comparison.

How scale do you think this nose block is?
David Duckett, Image # 1231111 May 09 09:34

Plastic prop is included
David Duckett, Comment for image # 1230811 May 09 09:20
This is from a Guillows kit. The only plastic in a Diels kit is the canopy and everything else is made from balsa, even the wheels. I'll post a pic of how the plans show to make the spinner with a prop but it's certainly not how I'll do it since mine won't have one. It would be much easier to get one from Guillows or a regular spinner from a shop. This one isn't quite correct so I'll carve one from a block of balsa.
Brian Kostecki, Comment for image # 1230811 May 09 08:43
That's a little disappointing because Diels' web site even says "the radome nose makes it a natural for rubber flying".
David Duckett, Image # 1230811 May 09 05:48

The spinner is NOT part of the kit.

Aha! Thanks, James.

In the book, they originally went to Saturn. They changed it to Jupiter for the film, I think that was easier for the effects department.

Bravo! I realized after I posted this that the quote really pertains to Jupiter. "Open the pod bay door, HAL!" ;-)
