Waiting for the molecules to set. After this is solid, I will fabircate and attach a wire strut in the rear. Just before the space for the lower wing. |

The wire strut will be covered and shaped. The wire should slip from the tube epoxyed to the float. The tube will be covered with an Al mounting plate. |

According to my measuring stick, the fuse is centered over flotsam and jetsam. |

The floats are forward of the engine as per reference photo. The scrap prop clears the floats. |

Starting construction of the float struts. |

Thought about it for two hours. I think I have a handle on the process. Stay tuned to tomorrow's episode! |

This will be interesting to see how you solve building the struts that attach the fuselage to the floats. There are lots of angles to deal with.. |

Thanks. My reference photos of an aquatic Waco shows bars between the floats. I pondered and decide that they would make great structural spacers. Tomorrow I tackle the struts. |

What an interesting solution of spacing floats. That certainly is easier than all that cutting and fiddling. I like the colors and all the detailing going on. |

The dowels have been amputated to give the required width. You can see the Al tubing, a large ferrule, which holds the assembly together. My goal is to fabricate the float mounts as two halfs that slip together and mount onto the fuse. This will make my transport easier. |

A great deal of thought will be required before the float stuts are manufactured and installed. Proper positioning is critical. |

When the Float struts are made the fuse must be a tad higher and the final prop a tad smaller than the scrap prop. |

Staring the float assembly. |

When the epoxy on the dowels sets, the dowels can be cut to give the required spacing with the fuse. Tubing ferrules will allow me to adjust the width to the rquired fit. |

FLYBOYZ...just remembered that I have a mini Mig. The floats ends have been shaped and given a coat of color. |
