Hi Dave, Newbie here. I have seen lots of photos on here of larger models where people are using filler as you are in this model. Is there a resource for the technique of how to apply the filler? I'm unclear on how to get the look you have in this particular pic. Is it like spackle? do yo have to fill each gap prior to applying it. Again, I am a newbie. This may be a really stupid question, but there it is.

A man named Albert Pines once said, “What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains, and is immortal.” There will be things we keep for ourselves as a personal gift or reward for our hard work and that is perfectly fine. But it's the things we share with our friends, family and the world that will bring us the greatest rewards. Sometimes the act of giving may be more important than the gift itself.

Although landing gear was planned for both, neither this one or the F-100 got it but the new owner is satisfied with them as they are so...I did add a bomb to the outer pylon on each side of this one and painted over the wheel wells on both and called'em done. A fellow Vietnam vet has direct ties to the Red River Rats which are part of the outfit which erected the monument with the F-105 on Davis-Monthan (see earlier pics in this thread). I offered him this one and the F-100 if he wanted them and would pay the packing and shipping. He said he wanted them so yesterday I took them to the local UPS store, paid them a small fortune, and they're now on the way to Edgewater Park, NJ, which is in zone 8 about 2400 miles from here, or in other words, highest rate. I don't know if John has recovered from the shock yet but I'm fairly sure he won't say anything. Likewise, I don't know what his plans are for the two planes but he's very patriotic and maintains very close ties with his former comrades so it would not surprise me if he gives them away. He was just at a reunion at Wright-Patterson AFB and took his Grandkids along. That's cool. A model to me is like a painting on canvas. By the time it's finished the intense love affair that has been going on in making it is atarting to wear a bit and when it's finally done, it rapidly loses status as "most admired" and in the case of these two planes, they've been living in the dark closet for awhile so I'm sure they will enjoy their new life in the spotlight. That's good enough for me.

Now I'm waiting for a new batch of casting materials to make the bombs for the outer pylons.

The addition of the fins completes the tanks.

Ahhhhhhh - another mystery of the universe revealed. Anyone who has been in the military will recognize the TopFlite Panel Line Pen for what it really is - a map pen! Plenty of those hanging around... Thanks for the tip David.

Ooopps...fins on tanks still needed to complete.

How do you make your panel lines? The panel line is one code I cant seem to crack.
