You can use the Micro-fill to taper and blend the cowl with balsa. I had to do this on P-38 upper wing plastic to blend with fuselage front and rear. See photo. |

Beautiful work. Just like the full scale. Love the details. |

Automobile "Bondo" will....if Microfill does not. |

Tomorrow, hollow out the fuselage machine gun troughs, start to detail a cockpit and under fuselage radiator detailing. Rained all day today so the queen allowed in depth modeling. My, she's a good girl. |

Dope and SGM silkspan should cover nicely on the moveable surfaces and allow tapered ribs to show through. Throw in a little DD and a little Poppy, BAM!!! makes a beautiful combo. |

Machine gun troughs filled with first coat of Micro-Fill. True BF109E had tapered trough that did not continue into cowl. Poppy, will the Micro-Fill adhere to the plastic? |

Sweeter and sweeter, I love all this extra work!!! |

Since the kit is a BF109E version, felt I had to add appropriate and close to scale, underwing radiators and wing machine gun cartridge chutes, Off to glue, fill, and sand. |

Looks great - I like the nice sharp lines. Will you cover it with tissue? |

Thanks gents. The Mess 109 was not a thing of beauty, though it did kick some butt for a while. I just got tired of painting and masking and thought that recessed wells would add a little flair. And John, coming from someone who could probably hollow out a carrot and produce an awesome intake duct...this was quite easy. |

Slick technique! I wish I would have seen this before I built my Mig. This is one for my memory banks. |
