| Poppy, I just sanded down the second coat and then decided I better apply a third coat. I expect that tomorrow I should be able to sand and polish it to a good shine then fire up the oven and see what happens. If all goes well I might be able to mail you a couple canopies early next week. |

| Poppy, I applied the second coat of resin the other night but have not gotten any more done on it as work has been taking up all my time and energy lately. I hope I'm not holding up your progress too much, the good news is that after the 27th I'll have more free time again. |

The first coat of resin is sanded down and 1/8" sheet has been applied around all edges to ensure a little excess plastic to work with when demolding and trimming to fit the plane. The purple disk is some extra resin, it is hard as a rock. |

Poppy's canopy mold arrived today, shown here inside the kit canopy and with the stock plans. The finishing resin is said to provide a heat resistant surface to protect the wood from dents and dings and to sand to a smooth finish. |

| Considering that my last electric FF plane is presently stuck at the top of a tall tree, and that I now own an RC tx/rx system, I am thinking of adding rudder control to this plane. I also happen to have a spare Pixie-7P (now that the One Nite 28 is stuck in a tree) that can act as a battery low voltage protect and has a BEC to supply the radio and servo. Maybe a pull-pull rudder? |

| Assuming that the timer works properly, no. The idea is that you charge the thing up and with 25 to 30 power runs you can fly all morning on one charge. Of course, the assumption is that electronic timers are more reliable than the old mechanical ones. (If anyone cares, will tell the long "one that got away" story off list.) |

| I used a 250mAh battery on my r/c Guillows Fairchild 24, and could get 10 minute flights out of that. Isn't that going to be too long for a free-flight flight? |

| I'm glad to hear that you are using it too, I wasn't sure if I had gotten the proper motor. Initially I will just have the battery protection circuit but I am already planning to design my own ESC. |

| That's the same power plant that's going into my 400 Series Bf-109 except that I have a Star*Link-Flite Tech FWS_0 timer in the circuit. Since I will be flying free-flight at the Grassy Knoll, also called the "Minute Field" I'll need the timer to keep from loosing it. The timer is also a speed controller, allowing low powered flights for trimming. The only thing sticking through the side of them model is a tiny LED light, (about 1/16 inch diameter, that blinks to show what program the timer is running, and the tiny switch (about 3/32 inch diameter) button that you use to program the timer and start the motor when you launch. |

| I'm not sure, but it should go till battery voltage hits 6 volts and my protection circuit kills the motor. I'll have to look at a battery datasheet to estimate how long that will take. |
